Astronauts are expected to hit a major milestone in the Artemis II mission with a historic flyby of the moon on Monday afternoon.

After a 10-day mission, the Artemis II spacecraft is returning to Earth — and several TV networks and streaming platforms are carrying the event live on Friday. According to NASA, the Artemis II mission is scheduled to splash down off the coast of San Diego at approximately 8:07 p.

With the moon looming ever larger, the Artemis II astronauts raced to set a new distance record Monday from Earth on a lunar fly-around that promised magnificent views of the far side never seen before by eye.
